How To Register Mobile Number

1. Customer has to fill up and sign the Mobile Banking registration form to get registered for Mobile banking services, Customer will get registered within three working days.

2. MMID, Request PIN and Application PIN are sent to the Customer through SMS at the moment of registration of the Customer.

3. If customer is already registered for SMS banking then for registration, Customer has to send message as REGIMPS to +919227712345. Customer will get a reply "You have enrolled for IMPS. Our customer care executive will call you in next 2 working days for further assistance", through message. Our call center persons will call the customer to confirm that the mobile number registered belongs to the customer. MMID, request PIN and application PIN is sent to the customer through SMS after the authorization of the customer. If customer forgets request PIN, customer has to come to branch to get Request PIN.

How To Generate MMID

If customer forgets MMID, customer has to send message MMID to +919227712345 to get MMID / MMIDs.

How To Get M-PIN

Request PIN and Application PIN is sent to the Customer through SMS at the moment of registration of the Customer. Use Request PIN for SMS based transaction and Application PIN for application based transaction.

After receiving new application PIN, customer has to change application PIN before initiating the transaction.

For all type of SMS based transactions customer needs to generate OTP first. To receive OTP for SMS based transaction customer has to send SMS OTP <space><MPIN> to +919227712345. Customer receives 6 digits OTP by SMS.

For application based transactions. Only in pull type of merchant payment transaction, customer needs to generate OTP (for e.g. Railway ticket booking on IRCTC). To generate OTP using MUCB Mobile application, The Bank offers 'Generate OTP' form in the MUCB Mobile application (this form is available in 'IMPS' menu on the main menu of mobile application). Customer needs to enter Application PIN and click on confirm. Customer receives 6 digits OTP by SMS.

If customer forgets Request pin or Application PIN then customer has to contact to branch to get new Request PIN or Application PIN.

Merchant Payment
Push Transaction:

In the customer initiated transaction (P2M PUSH) transaction for e.g. mobile recharge, DTH recharge, insurance premium payment, and etc. customer initiates transaction through the MUCB Mobile application or SMS facility provided by the Bank. The Bank offers 'IMPS merchant payments' form in the MUCB Mobile application (this form is available in 'IMPS' menu on the main menu of mobile application) or SMS syntax for performing P2M PUSH transaction. Customer needs to enter the following parameters:

  • Merchant mobile number
  • Merchant MMID
  • Amount
  • PIN
  • Payment Reference

Payment Reference is an optional field provided. This field will be used to enter the unique reference for the payment, and identifies the transaction to the merchant. The merchant decides what customer will enter in this field. For e.g. for insurance premium payment, customer may need to enter policy number in the payment reference field; for electricity bill payment, it may be consumer number. The syntax and information to be input in the payment reference field will be decided by merchant, and communication of the same will be merchant ownership

The SMS syntax for making P2M PUSH transaction through SMS is as follows:

To initiate SMS based transaction customer has to generate OTP

  • SMS Syntax to generate OTP
  • OTP<space><mPIN>
  • Customer receives OTP by SMS.

SMS Syntax to initiate transaction.

MIMPS <space><Merchant mobile number><space><Merchant MMID><space><Amount><space><OTP+last three digits of customer's MMID><space><Payment Reference> to +919227712345.

On initiating transaction as above, customer receives the confirmation SMS with status of transaction shortly.

For IMPS P2M PUSH transaction initiated through SMS, transaction limit is Rs 5,000/- per day, and for transactions initiated through MUCB Mobile application, transaction limit is Rs 50,000/- per day.

Pull Transaction:

In Merchant Initiated transaction (P2M PULL) for e.g. railway ticket booking on IRCTC, etc. The transaction is initiated through Merchant application (such as Merchant website, WAP site, IVR, mobile application). The typical steps to follow for making transaction through P2M PULL are as follows:

  • Visit merchant application such as web site, mobile application, or WAP site.
  • Select product / service for which payment is to be made.
  • In the payment options available, choose IMPS.
  • Enter credentials as follows:
    • Customer mobile number
    • Customer MMID
    • OTP (One - Time Password)
  • The transaction status is displayed on the screen.

The customer needs to enter the credentials - Customer mobile number (as registered with the Bank), customer MMID (as generated by Bank) and OTP (One-Time Password, as generated by customer). OTP needs to be generated by customer for each Pull transaction. OTP can be generated by customer by using MUCB Mobile application or SMS facility provided by the Bank. DNS Bank offers 'Generate OTP' form in the mobile banking application (this form is available in 'IMPS' menu within main menu of mobile banking application) or by SMS.

The SMS syntax for 'Generate OTP' through SMS is as follows:
OTP <space><request pin> to +919227712345

On initiating transaction as above, customer receives the confirmation SMS with status of transaction shortly.

The OTP generated as above has following characteristics:

  • OTP is valid for 1 hour from time of generation.
  • If OTP is generated through SMS, the transaction limit is Rs 5,000/- and if OTP is generated through mobile banking application, the transaction limit is Rs 50,000 per day.
  • OTP is valid only for one transaction - Successful or Failure.
  • Only one OTP (latest generated OTP) is valid at a time.
How To Send Money

For SMS based transaction with limit <= 5,000 customer will have to request One Time PIN using keyword OTP <space><mPIN>. The OTP will be sent by SMS to customer's mobile which will be valid for one transaction within 1 hour.

For application based transaction with limit <= 50,000, customer will be provided with application PIN during the registration which customer has to change from the application before initiating the transaction and it will be valid till customer do not change application PIN from the application or request new application PIN

The Bank offers 'IMPS FT - To Mobile Number' and 'IMPS FT - To account Number' form in the MUCB Mobile application (these forms are available in 'IMPS' menu on the main menu of mobile application) or customer can transfer funds by sms.

Message format for fund transfer transaction -

IIMPS <space><beneficiary mobile no><space><Beneficiary MMID><space><Transaction amount><space><OTP+last three digits of MMID>

OR

IMPS <space><beneficiary Account Number><space><beneficiary IFSC code><space><beneficiary account type><space><Transaction amount><space><OTP+last three digits of MMID>

Beneficiary account type can be savings, current, overdraft, cash credit, loan account, card to card payments.

How To Receive Money
  • Register your mobile number with your account in the Bank.
  • Get MMID from the Bank.
  • Share your mobile number and MMID with sender.
  • Ask the sender to send money.
  • Check the SMS confirmation for the money received through IMPS.

  • The Bank offers 'IMPS merchant payments' form in the MUCB Mobile application (this form is available in 'IMPS' menu on the main menu of mobile application)
  • Ask sender to send money.
  • Check the SMS confirmation for the money received through IMPS.
Amount Limits and Bank Charges

For IMPS transactions initiated through SMS, transaction limit is Rs. 5,000/- per day, and for transactions initiated through MUCB Mobile application, transaction limit is Rs. 50,000/- per day.
